How to Apply

 

Undergraduate students should check the application process for the summer internship program. The application process typically starts in March and is completed by the end of April. Students interested in academic year research should contact individual faculty members in the area of their technical interest via email.

Master’s degree graduate students in the ECE program at Rutgers may also apply for summer internships by following instructions given on the summer internship website. Those interested in M.S. thesis research should contact individual faculty members to set up an appointment to discuss interests and possible research group openings. Students applying for M.S. thesis research should have proven independent research capabilities and have a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Prospective PhD students who are currently enrolled in the ECE or CS graduate programs at Rutgers should contact individual faculty members in their area of specialization to set up an appointment to discuss research interests and available research group openings. Students applying for PhD thesis research should be highly self-motivated towards a research career and have a minimum GPA of 3.75. New graduate student applicants to Rutgers may be considered for the PhD program at WINLAB in coordination with the ECE and CS departments. Prospective PhD students are requested to apply to either the ECE or CS PhD program following instructions on the Rutgers graduate school website indicating their interest in WINLAB in the personal statement. After completing the Rutgers graduate school application, PhD applicants are encourage to send a copy of the application and CV to a WINLAB faculty member in their area of specialization. Note that only a limited number of graduate assistant positions are available to new students and applicants are expected to have an outstanding academic background and proven research/technology development skills.
