Installing NS2 binary on Windows 98 (you may try on 2000/NT; let me know if you succeed J)

1. Download the Tcl Installer tcl830.exe from ftp://ftp.scriptics.com/pub/tcl/tcl8_3/ and run it to install Tcl83.dll
2. Download NS2 and NAM binaries (ns-2.1b9a-win32.exe and nam-1.0a11a-win32.exe respectively) from http://www.isi.edu/nsnam/dist/binary/ . say the directory they’re installed is c:\programs\ns2
3. Rename the two executables to ns.exe and nam.exe respectively (for easy usage).
4. Set the path variable to include directory c:\programs\ns2 . You can change path permanently using ‘msconfig’
5. Open command prompt (‘command’) and run ns <tcl script>
